DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

1. Services.  Cloudera will perform the following Services for Customer:

             1.1 Engagement Planning & Prerequisite Validation

Cloudera will review Customer requirements for the jointly selected open data lakehouse use case, and put together a high-level plan outlining Cloudera and Customer responsibilities during the engagement. Cloudera will review the agreed upon data sources and Customer’s Cloudera environment to assess readiness to deliver the selected use case.

             1.2.   Solution Design

Cloudera will work with Customer to document a solution design for the selected use case in Cloudera. The selected use case will be a multi-function data pipeline leveraging Iceberg, and will be limited to the following boundaries:

            A.  Data ingestion to Iceberg tables (up to 2 data sources)

            B.  Data engineering, processing, and curation (up to 10 tables)

            C.  Demonstrate data access of processed tables via Cloudera Data Warehouse, Cloudera AI, or JDBC/ODBC integration with a 3rd party BI tool

             1.3.   Platform Readiness for an Open Data Lakehouse Use Case

Cloudera will perform platform setup and configuration activities to prepare one (1) Customer environment for the selected use case. This platform setup work is limited to one (1) of the following options:

            A.  Onboarding to a Cloudera on cloud environment

            B.   Installing Cloudera Data Services on ECS (on existing Cloudera Base on-premises cluster)

            C.   Minor version upgrade of an existing Cloudera Base on-premises environment to an Iceberg compatible Cloudera Base on-premises version

             1.4.   Data Ingestion & Data Engineering

Cloudera will work with the Customer to ingest up to two (2) data sources as required for the selected use case. Data will be ingested into Iceberg tables. Data engineering work will be performed to process raw data into curated tables in line with the use case requirements (up to 10 tables).

             1.5.   Data Reporting & Consumption

Cloudera will demonstrate data access of processed tables via Cloudera Data Warehouse or Cloudera AI (based on the agreed upon success criteria). If required, Cloudera will support the Customer with integrating a certified 3rd party BI tool via JDBC/ODBC. Cloudera will work with the Customer to validate that the established success criteria for the use case has been achieved.

             1.6.   Training Services

Cloudera will provide two (2) subscriptions to the Cloudera OnDemand training library for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase of this Cloudera SmartLakehouse Services engagement. Cloudera OnDemand training Services are subject to the additional terms, including the training course policies and classroom requirements, set forth at: https://www.cloudera.com/legal/commercial-terms-and-conditions/cloudera-training-terms.html. The fees for this OnDemand training subscription access are included in the total fees paid for the Services set forth herein.       

              1.7.   Documentation

Cloudera will provide documentation covering the entirety of the engagement. This includes the solution design mentioned in Section 1.2 above, as well as any additional documentation required to capture platform implementation activities.

 2. Deliverables, Acceptance and Success Criteria

      The deliverables for this engagement (“Deliverables”) will be the following:

A.     Documentation as identified in Section 1.7 above.

B.     Platform readiness for one (1) cluster as described in Section 1.3 above.

C.    Implementation of one open data lakehouse use case as described in Section 1.4 and Section 1.5 above

This engagement shall be deemed successful and complete once the scope of work items are completed and the Deliverables are accepted by Customer as per the acceptance process in Section 13 of the SOW T&Cs.
