Professional Services Datasheet

The following is a high-level list of activities that Cloudera professional services personnel including consultants, architects and service delivery managers may perform during an engagement. All these activities apply only to services performed on Cloudera platform components including but not limited to the following: CDH, HDP, HDF/CDF and Cloudera, formally known as CDP. During planning phases of the engagement, Cloudera and Customer will jointly identify and agree on the specific activities to be performed.

 

Activities Performed by Technical Resources

(Consultants and Architects)

  • Complete Cloudera Migration risk assessment to validate prerequisites and environment readiness before upgrade/migration
  • Execute review/health check of existing environments in preparation for upgrade/migration
  • Create migration assessment summary document, recommended optimizations with priorities
  • Develop end to end Cloudera migration plan and gain concurrence with Customer
  • Document future state Cloudera solution including guidance for application refactoring
  • Assist with IT Certification and Infosec readiness for proposed Cloudera environment
  • Assist to resolve any known cluster issues before upgrade/migration start to bring all services to green state
  • Finalize scope, requirements and success criteria for initial Dev/Test upgrade/migration
  • Assist Customer to identifying a set of representative workloads for executing the initial test cases
  • Design, Plan and execute cluster upgrades/migrations and data migrations for Cloudera, CDH, HDP and CDF/HDF 
  • Assist Customer to apply any identified recommendations/tuning to Cloudera Clusters based on initial review/health check
  • Assist Customer with Implementation of any new Cloudera Pilot Use Cases
  • Plan, design, implement and optimize workload migrations to Cloudera (on cloud, on premises or hybrid)
  • Conduct knowledge sharing on the upgrade and operational details

 

Activities Performed by Service Delivery Managers

  • Jointly manage all aspects of engagements with the Customer Project Manager
  • Act as first point of contact for all Cloudera resources and activities
  • Finalize requirements and review project expectations with Customer
  • Perform preparatory and administrative activities including information gathering, onboarding, coordinating solution discussions and planning meetings
  • Provide periodic status updates to stakeholders as agreed during the planning phase
  • Manage Cloudera resource performance, billing/invoicing and Customer expectations
  • Conduct project kick-off at inception and hand-off to Customer at conclusion
  • Serves as a conduit to broader Cloudera resources (Support, Engineering and larger Professional Services organization)
  • Coach and mentor Customer Project Managers on best practices regarding executing analytics projects
  • Manage emergency hotfix releases with engineering and product troubleshooting sessions with Engineering
  • Coordinate with Cloudera Support on support tickets
